SUNNY SIDE UP

A favorite among locals and frequently voted Best Breakfast on Tybee, The Breakfast Club opens every day at 7 a.m. and serves everything from omelets and home fries to a hamburger named the Chicago Bear made with over a half pound of lean ground beef. EXPLORE THE MARINE SCIENCE CENTER

The Marine Science Center is passionate about wildlife conservation and environmental education, and their wildlife gallery consists of animals they catch and release, so there's always a variety. You can see baby alligators, clown fish, horseshoe crabs, and Ike, their resident loggerhead sea turtle. They offer several walks, including a one-hour all-ages Turtle Talk walk where you can excavate a mock nest. The walks are $10 per person, and you can call 912-786-5917 or stop by the center to reserve space.

HANG TEN AT TYBEE ISLAND SURF SCHOOL

If you've ever wanted to learn how to surf, Tybee Surf School is a fun way to get your feet wet. Their lifeguards are NSSIA, CPR, and Lifeguard Certified, and lessons are tailored to the individual. They'll teach you the basics of surfing - how to paddle out, pop-up, and wave management - and after some practice on the beach, you'll head into the water to put your lesson to the test. They offer individual and group sessions and even have a couples special.

DINE ON FRESH COASTAL CUISINE

Are you in the mood for good oysters, cold beer, and no fuss? Head to Bernie's Oyster House. Less than a block from the Tybee Beach Pier and Pavilion, Bernie's has a selection of sandwiches, soups, appetizers, and oysters - steamed, raw, and fried.

ENJOY THE BEACH AT TYBEE ISLAND

When you're done with dinner, enjoy an evening walk along the shore, drink in hand. You can often see dolphins not far off the beach, chasing after schools of fish at dusk.
