We loved that this house had all the charms of an 1875 build still present as we were living for a few days in the heart of history. We wish a book was present explaining the history of this home rather than the history of the restaurant next door. All the post 1875 amenities like bathrooms and electrical appliances worked well. We could see an attempt to modernize the modern areas was not as well-constructed as the original bones —— a shower head just barely hanging by a thread of slap happy caulking —— a glass shower enclosure installed without a level that was barely anchored with a door that opened like a heavy vault door as it scraped along the tile. The Rue House has been somewhat rudely maintained and needs some TLC with walls repaired and painted, exterior doors reinforced, reinforced railing, refurbished exterior stairs and landing. We have seen homes like this get forgotten and fall into disrepair and it is sad. But there may be hope because the places on either side of us were being remodeled —— something we were not informed about as we were booking or before our arrival — that would have been nice — but maybe 310 Oglethorpe will be next! The place was clean, furniture clean (some pieces need repair) — only needed some more attention to dusting ( maybe some leftovers from 1875).
And as for cleaning, we wish that a couple kitchen towels had been provided — we could not find any — and probably used more paper towels than usual, which were provided. It was a great location with shopping, restaurants, and the bulk of historical finds within a mile radius. The live oaks and the walks down streets line Jones street were beautiful. Staying in this townhouse was a great way to be immersed into the awesome history of Savannah while coddling us weak modern people with things like indoor plumbing. We want to return to this same place to see that something has been done to t

My husband, mother-in-law and I had a wonderful weekend stay at Rue Townhouse. The property is absolutely beautiful, a very comfortable, well-kept historic home with gorgeous interiors and lots of space. Very well located within walking distance to everything. Lucky Savannah was a joy to deal with, and very accommodating in allowing us to keep our car parked after checkout time. We would love to stay here again when we return to Savannah!

We have a great 4 days over Thanksgiving week here. The unit has two en suite bedrooms that were very comfortable. Our Master Ensuite had a very comfy bed. And the second room same. Was nice to have the space to enjoy breakfast at home. We mostly ate out and every restaurant we had picked prior to arrival turned out to be closer than we imagined. We could walk everywhere.
Know before you go. As others said construction project starts early. We lucked out on the holiday weekend so only had 1 day of 7 AM workers. If you rise early it is not an issue.
We would all stay here again and recommend this unit. Thank you for a great stay.

If you love staying in a classic Savannah townhouse on a shady street, facing an historic graveyard, then this is your spot. Very well appointed vacation home, in a very convenient spot. Most of the major attractions and restaurants are within a 10 minute walk. The house was very clean and the bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable. Nice dining room for people to gather together. Parking was convenient with one free spot in the back and on street overnight parking is free after 8 p.m. . Best part was the price. As we stayed on Memorial Day weekend, hotel prices were very high. With three couples sharing the house, we saved hundreds of dollars. Great deal. We , however, wouldn’t recommend this house if any of the parties staying have trouble climbing stairs. Lots of steps getting into the house and lots getting up to the bedrooms. Besides that, the place was wonderful.

next door. They are building condos from the ground up and it is LOUD. The work began at 7am and they worked until 7pm Friday and Saturday. It was inconvenient but we did enjoy our stay. Teenagers slept through it all. LOL! We would have appreciated knowing about the construction so we could adjust our expectations. We were not able to enjoy the outdoor space to enjoy the perfect weather but my husband did learn a lot about pouring foundations. All in all is it a nice location; close to Broughton and all it offers.

A very cool property appropriate for a stay in Savannah! Excellent location for walking to see the historic district. Very comfortable and the parking space was a major factor for choosing this property. I believe they should put a disclosure that there is construction immediately next door. It was not a problem due to the construction stage and enjoyed the hard working crew installing tons of rebar in the bottom floor. Take your own toilet paper!

Beautiful property and wonderful location! Bath/shower combo upstairs did not drain well. Recommend having blankets available for sofa couch - sheet set for sofa couch was crisp and clean but had to borrow additional blanket from an upstairs bedroom.

We have celebrated Christmas in Savannah with friends for the past
“ten-ish”years. This was our 2nd time staying at Rue Townhouse. The location could not be better. We were able to walk to just about everywhere we went. The provided parking is very convenient. We would definitely return, however there are some issues with the house that need to be addressed. The shower in the bath above the living room does not turn on and that bedroom has one roller shade that is ripped and one that cannot be pulled up. The bath over the kitchen has a heavy glass shower door that is about ready to come off the hinges and could definitely be a liability. Also, the sink drains in that bath are clogged. These are maintenance issues that should be reported by housekeeping but have somehow been overlooked. The house is wonderful and we will return but our stay would have been made more comfortable if these repair issues were addressed.

The rental was absolutely gorgeous! We loved the location and were able to walk everywhere! The only complaint we had was poor draining in the large shower.

We stayed 3 nights at the Rue townhouse. The communication from the booking until we left was great. House was clean and very well decorated. The porches are nice to sit out and relax. There is road noise when sleeping in the front bedroom. Would stay there again.

My husband, daughter, and I had wonderful time in Savannah. The Historic Townhouse added the perfect touch to being part of the Historic District. It is located in just the right location to walk to all the wonderful sights/tours/restaurants that Savannah has to offer. We loved it!

The property was beautiful and located in a great spot! As someone who likes to cook, the kitchen equipment is severely lacking. A serious inventory should be done. Many kitchen cabinets are falling off and there were no trash bags. Many of the lightbulbs are burnt out, serious dusting of floorboards, light fixtures, and under furniture needs to be done. The Firestick with access to music was wonderful. Better instructions on how to recycle and where to place that and the trash would be helpful. I would stay here again, but would need to bring some of my own things since I like to cook.

This house is so nice! This historic home takes you back in time! Stay went without a hitch!! I needed coffee and laundry detergent and someone showed up within an hour. They were very nice and told me to contact them with any other wants or needs. This home had everything you would ever need. Very comfortable accommodations with our own personal parking space in the back. This location is perfect. You are able to walk anywhere you need. There is even a coffee shop around the corner. I would stay there again!

Pretty much as described, great location for exploring on foot.
The townhouse was built around 1840 from what I could figure out but it has been updated without loosing its original feel. Expect some strange features such as doors to nowhere and original woodwork that is not pristine. Overall it was clean. Furniture was comfortable and in good condition. Beds were great and kitchen was well equipped and functional.

We were very impressed with this property. It lived up to the photographs and then some. Beautiful. Location outstanding. Our only concern was that it was difficult to cool the upstairs bedrooms for sleeping. We imagine this would be more of a problem in summer. Overall, we were enchanted with this apartment.

We were abruptly woken at 7AM to the thud of ladders striking the soffit of the house. The house has shudders and blinds. However, they do not extend to the top of the 8 foot windows where the painters were working. You can understand the shock and horror my wife experienced looking up over the curtains to see a painter staring at her naked body! They did not have the decency to turn around. I contacted the rental company and was informed that the owners must have scheduled the painters. They should have had the decency to check and see if thehouse was occupied.
Tile in master shower missing. There was broken glass in back door.
I did not spend $882 for two nights stay to have my wife be violated. I am very disappointed.

Spent 3 nights in savannah. House was exactly what we expected. Only complaint is the direction to park and how to get in the house are not says to park on thenroghr...but is in the rear. Also the keys are on the top of the stairs...but not of the main address, but again in the rear of the house. Very confusing ...

We stayed here for 3 days. The house was extremely clean and prepared for us. The only thing I would charge a little more for better toilet paper and paper towels. We did enjoy our trip very much and would use Lucky Savannah again.

The home was clean and had a good layout. It is centrally located so all the things we wanted to do were in easy walking distance. Parking was confusing with no sign and the house number is not on the back of the house so you're kind of guessing where to park. The house is well equipped but the only thing we were missing was an ottoman to prop our feet up at night
